Threeclipse Game Development: Junior Program

What's one of the most frustrating things about searching for jobs?

If you're thinking "entry-level jobs requiring years of experience," this program may be for you.

The Threeclipse Junior Program is a 100% free, 12-week collaborative project where you'll work with a team to build and ship a real game to Steam, bridging the gap from graduation (or self-taught experience) to work readiness.

We're doing this because we know firsthand how hard it is to get your first breakthrough of industry experience.

What Exactly Is the Junior Program?

It's a 12-week remote collaboration where you work 10-15 hours per week with a team to build a non-commercial game from start to finish. Threeclipse runs production, handles all the Steam publishing logistics, and brings in industry veterans to support the team.

By the end of the program, you'll have a published Steam game with your name on it that you can use as a portfolio piece when applying to jobs.

Saying "I know how to make games" is one thing, but being able to say "here's the game I helped create, go download it right now" is another.

Beyond the completed portfolio piece, we'll help you develop the skills and confidence you'll need when you finally walk into your first industry job. You'll get acquainted with the tools and methodologies used by many studios, big and small. The real-world experience you pick up during this junior program will prepare you to be a day-one contributor in any team you join.

The only investment for you? Your time and commitment.

Why Is Threeclipse Doing It for Free?

  • The short answer: It's hard to get a foot in the door, and we've all been there.
  • The longer answer: We love video games and see the writing on the wall. The past few years in particular have been incredibly challenging for anyone looking to enter the game industry, and there's often no clear career path forward after completing an academic degree.

Some newcomers figure it out; most don't and give up.

We're here to change that. Without juniors getting experience today, the industry as a whole will struggle in the next decade.

What Will I Get Out of It?

  • Hands-on experience with game studio workflows and tools
  • Regular feedback on your work and answers to your questions
  • A published Steam game with your name attached (we pay the costs!)
  • 30–60 minute 1:1 coaching session with an industry veteran in your field (subject to availability)
  • Access to webinars with industry veteran guest speakers
  • Networking opportunities, work reference, and job-seeking assistance
  • …and the friends we make along the way
